Outer Journey. Inner Journey.

Another recent painting. Really a reworking of a reoccurring theme. I am very drawn to paths I notice?

Amoghasiddhi Buddha of the North

This is a rough depiction of Amoghasiddhi the Buddha of the North. His name means unobstructed success. There are many Buddhas in Buddhism which may come of a surprise to many people. What they represent is qualities rather than an actual entity. For some reason I am drawn to this particular Buddha and the qualities he represents. I couldn't articulate why! Any way I wanted to put something onto the abstract watercolour background to add a little interest. I may revisit this on another abstract but this time taking more care with the image.

Taoist Wave with Eagle.

This painting, or I should say the background, was one of four wet in wet paintings I did when feeling completely uninspired. Using three colours only, Windsor Green ( blue shade ), Permanent Rose and Lemon Yellow and letting the paint run, roll around and mix at will. When dry I thought this looks like a wave with a pink and yellow sky. This is the magic of not trying and I am sure everyone will see something else in this absract background as the wave is only my mind's creation. I then painted the eagle in the foreground. Did it work?
I am not sure but I quite like it myself.

Sun Eagle

To celebrate the arrival of spring after a long cold winter. My spirits soar like an eagle to greet the sun.
