I have revisited this painting. I was quite pleased with it but had the nagging feeling that it was asking for something to appear in the space between the trees. It seemed as if the space was wreathed in mist so I added a ghostly and unreal apparition. Not too sure if it worked. What do you think! All opinions are valued so don't be afraid to express criticism. Thankyou. www.chrisgauntartist.co.uk
I think it works perfectly to be honest. I like it! Adds a beautiful haunting-ness to it.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the horse was a little more hazy or not clearly defined through the mist, how it might look. Perhaps a splash of cloudy mist illuminated in the foreground between the sillhouette and the eye One reason I suggest this is becuase the rest of the painting is bit more untamed in style and the horse silhouette is a solid block colour. Really like the birch trees and the splattered dots. I like the way this style is developing Chris. How are you finding the process?
ReplyDeleteAlso curious where the shadow of the horse would be cast. It looks like it could be a misty morning light with the sun still to rise over the horizon. Did you have a particular time of day in mind?
ReplyDelete"nag"ging feeling ;)
